COLLECTING CONTEMPORARY ART: A CONVERSATION WITH CATHERINE HASKINS, KARA JEFTS, & BRIGHT KONTOR OSEI

  • ACC Alumni Conference Room 101 Broad Street Plattsburgh, NY, 12901 United States (map)

CONVERSATION AND TALK INFORMATION

I will be participating in a conversation with Kara Jefts, Manager of Collections and Academic Engagement at the Plattsburgh State Art Museum, and Catherine Haskins, who works with the Process Art Space at the Mill in Westport, New York. The talk will focus on the subject of art collecting. The event will take place in the ACC Alumni Conference Room at SUNY Plattsburgh.

This program is organized to provide more context for the Art & Design Department initiative in which students purchase contemporary works of art each year for the Plattsburgh State Art Museum. As a new Assistant Professor of Painting and Drawing, I will take part in this conversation and contribute from the artist’s perspective, reflecting on the role of creating art as well as collecting art.
